Making a wreath is so simple, all you need is a good secateur, some florist wire – you can use string but I find that florist wire is so much easier to use – a few sprigs of foliage and flowers of your choice, and a circular wreath base – or whatever you fancy – but  when you use a circular base it is so much easier to hang. For the base I used some willow wrapped with Virginia Creepers that I made last Christmas. I always keep the wreath base in the shed after the festivities.

One mistake I used to make when I started to make wreaths, was to try to fill them with lots of foliage or adornments, but I found now that simplicity is often more chic, delicate and much easier to create.

The one tricky thing about making an asymmetric wreath, is that when you hang your final wreath you will have to play a little with it to make sure it sits right, but you can always help holding your wreath by adding a cheeky little pin hidden behind a ribbon to keep it in place.
